We all know that we are supposed to be drinking lots of water, right? But not just any water! The bottles of it that you buy at the grocery store not only end up in landfills after use by those who do not recycle but the energy and water used to manufacture the bottles is huge. Using reusable water bottles is not only less wasteful, it is also safer and healthier for you and your family. Certain plastic bottles leach harmful chemicals into the water they hold and then, of course, into your body if you drink it. Be sure to use those with a 2, 4 or 5 in the little triangle on the bottom of the bottle to ensure your bottle is safe.
Reusablebags.com has a great supply of reusable bottles to choose from, including plastic and stainless steel.

I recently purchased an Exercise Ball
after many months (or even years) of my children begging for one. But they weren't, believe it or not, the reason for my purchase. While at my pilates class one morning Jamie, my instructor, got to talking about how you could simulate some of the reformer moves on an exercise ball at home. After leaving, vowing to buy a ball, it dawned on me that this could come in handy for more than just my abs. It may be able to help me get some relief from neck tension. My neck and shoulders have been killing me for months now and I have settled on the idea that it is due to my poor posture. I spend day after day in front of the computer, trying to sit tall with both feet flat on the floor, which lasts a whole 10 minutes (maybe)then find myself all scrunched up with an ankle on the knee and my chin resting in my hand. They say the ball really helps with this, and if not, I'll have to be working something trying to balance my contorted self on the thing. And it just may help keep the kids busy until winter is over.

It's easy to get overwhelmed when thinking about helping out with our climate situation. Sure, you are just one person and can only do so much, but every little bit counts. We Add Up is a global campaign designed to "count you in" in the fight against global warming. Using organic cotton t-shirts they add the icon representing the action you choose (like "Unplug", "Hybrid" or "Buy Local")along with your number in the global count of those taking steps to curbe climate change.

Many resolve to go greener in the New Year and a great way to add to your eco lifestyle is by skipping the plastic shopping bags and b.y.o.b. (bring your own bag). Now you are probably thinking burlap sack, but shopping bags have come a long way in weight and style. The Greenloop offers Envirosax -- cool, light-weigth, decent-sized bags in a wide range of colors and designs (and they roll up for easy storage). Another great place to look is Reusable Bags for your
basic shopping bag or something a
little fancier. While you are there pick up a reusable bottle and help curb the urge to buy plastic. Have an idea for a great blog topic in this category? If so, please let us know! Just go to the
