About Us
My husband, Doug, and I have always been interested in organics and herbal products. After becoming a mother I sought out what I thought to be the best food and body care products for my child. But it was when my mother and friend were both diagnosed with breast cancer that I began avidly investigating what was in the products I was buying for myself and my family. As an experienced shopper, I was astounded to discover how difficult it is to obtain safe, effective personal care products. Sadly, nontoxic products for babies and children were especially hard to locate. As I continued to educate myself on chemical and synthetic ingredients, I soon found that a product claiming to be “natural” can actually contain very harmful ingredients. It is dismaying to me that not only are nontoxic products difficult to find, but that our mainstream supermarket and drugstore shelves are lined with items deemed safe which actually harbor toxic ingredients known to be harmful to humans. In my quest for nontoxic organic products which also actually work (I have tried many, and most often prefer something more than what I could whip up in my own kitchen) I have found several product lines which are very effective yet still deliver on safety and quality. I have searched, read the labels, researched ingredients and personally tried many products, in order to bring you what I feel are the very best, safest and most pure of the nontoxic, organic products out there. Any product I recommend I would and probably do use on myself and my children. My goal is to make it easy for you to find what you are looking for in skin, hair and body care and have the assurance that each product has met our high standards of safety, effectiveness and quality. What we use on our skin and hair is equally as important as what we eat. Our skin absorbs what we use on it, which then enters the bloodstream and is absorbed by certain organs. We have to remember that it is not just what we are putting into our bodies, but down our drains, into our water supply and earth. I believe that, given the choice, most consumers would choose to purchase products that are better for them and their environment. I hope to help bring nontoxic organic cosmetics and personal care products to the mainstream by raising awareness and making a variety of effective, practical and reasonably priced merchandise available to people everywhere. The more nontoxic, organic goods that are purchased, the more organic ingredients needed, thus the need for more organic farming methods. You are part of your environment, and by protecting yourself you are helping to protect our earth.
