Best Organic Cosmetics

Not all organic skincare products are created equally. Since studies show that our skin absorbs 60 percent of what we put on it, safe organic skincare products are the best choice. But which are the purest, safest products to use? This is the dilemma we face today with many cosmetics manufacturers claiming to be safe while still containing harmful ingredients.

So how can you tell what is truly safe from what is not? Learning to decipher the labels on cosmetics products is a great place to start to help ensure the safety and good health of you and your family. Check this list for a crash course in what you don't want to see on your product labels.

Label reading can be deceiving as some manufacturers do not fully disclose the ingredients they use on the labels, or make their labels difficult and confusing to read. Another way to safeguard yourself against products that use toxic chemicals is by following lines created by manufacturers who are dedicated to safety in cosmetics, and that list is growing at a steady rate.

So we can place little stock in a brand's marketing. "Natural" means simply that at least one ingredient used in making the product is derived from natural sources. This could be one of the last ingredients on the label, and even if it's not, it will do little good if the product still contains propylene glycol, sodium laureth sulphate and parabens. Even "Organic" is just a label telling you that the product is made with at least 70% organic ingredients, the other 30% can be whatever the manufacturers chooses. That is not to say that all products labeled “Natural” or “Organic” are bad, you just have to know how to tell the difference.
